Windy Plains
Renewable Energy Park

The proposed Windy Plains Renewable Energy Park (REP) is located approximately 40 km southeast of the township of Julia Creek in Queensland’s McKinlay Shire Council area.

This wind farm and associated battery storage will contribute significantly to Australia’s renewable energy targets and broader net-zero ambitions.

Benefits

Direct Economic Benefits

Generation of local, regional, and state employment opportunities for Queensland – both during construction and throughout the operating life of the project.

Indirect Economic Benefits

Flow-on benefits for local businesses through sourcing local products, materials, and services.

Improved Environmental Outcomes

Contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and helping Queensland and Australia work toward its renewable energy and net-zero targets.
